RSL have been dominant in the CVBD in recent years, winning pennant flags in 2014, ‘16 and ‘17.
Moama Red however have been one of the clear standout teams for the year, finishing on top of the ladder with 14 wins and two losses.
The decider is made quite interesting with Red’s two losses both coming against their grand final opponents, with RSL clean sweeping both rinks with a 58 to 42 and 56 to 35 win in their two home and away clashes.
But the last time these sides met it was Moama Red beating RSL 48 to 39 in the qualifying final two weeks ago.
RSL bowls president Ken Wellard said as situations have changed since the qualifying final it’s hard to determine who will be victorious.
‘‘Last week our players struggled a little bit with the pace of the Lockington green,’’ he said.
‘‘As the game is in Moama they have home field advantage so you would think they’re going into the match as favourites.
‘‘The Div. Five team has been consistent with a similar line-up each week.
‘‘It’s great to see a player like Sandra Hill making an impact in her first year of pennant bowls. She has improved as the season has gone on and has been a key reason Division Five have been successful again this year.
‘‘If everyone plays to their capability then I have full confidence they can win.’’
Teams for RSL Division Five’s grand final are as follows:
Sandra Hill, Graham Gordon, John Wilson, Max Connor (s); Alan Hodges, Jim Rhook, Neville Austin, Bruce Clancy (s).
Emergencies - Lyn Hardcastle.
