After a promising couple of weeks, the second-bottom Tigers were outclassed in Saturday's early AFL game at the MCG and fell to St Kilda by 49 points.
The 14.10 (94) to 6.9 (45) mismatch marked the end at Richmond for Prestia and Broad, three-time premiership players and Tigers fan favourites.
While they were in good spirits post-game, their coach was furious that Richmond were unable to mount a challenge.
"We're really, really disappointed with our performance - we got out-worked, we got out-played," Yze said.
"We got smashed in a lot of the areas we've been really strong in - contested possession, inside-50s, time in half - over the last few weeks.
"On a really important day, it was really embarrassing. Some of the lads, if they haven't felt like they played well today ... we have to be really honest and live that that.
"We've let them down ... we've taken a couple of steps back today."
It is unclear whether Prestia, in particular, will play elsewhere next season.
"We'll wait and see ... we'll see how we go," Prestia said.
Broad said he would return to Western Australia, and there is speculation about whether he might end up at Fremantle or West Coast.
Before they were chaired from the ground, Prestia joked that he owed an apology to Richmond for the $100,000 spent on scans for his many soft-tissue injuries.
Broad, the fastest player to three premierships in only 70 games, will be forever grateful that the Tigers took a punt on him.
"The club means everything to me. They were one of the only clubs that showed faith in me back then, when I was a 22-year-old plumber ... I'm indebted to this club forever," Broad said.
"I'm so stoked I can end it out on the MCG in front of the Tiger Army, with this bloke, because we've been through a lot together."
Broad, who only kicked four goals in his AFL career, drifted forward in the last quarter, but Saints defender Jack Silvagni made sure he wouldn't end the game on a high.
"Where's Silvagni - where is he? He came over and killed me," Broad joked.
"I wouldn't have it any other way. I couldn't kick any during my career, so why kick one today?"
It was Tom Lynch's 250th AFL game and the Tigers key forward also had a tough day, only managing one goal.
The easy win meant St Kilda's faint wildcard hopes remained alive for at least one more day, but if Carlton beat the Western Bulldogs on Sunday, as expected, the Saints' season will end next week.
Mitch Owens kicked a career-best five goals and Brad Hill ran riot with 42 possessions for the Saints, while Prestia had a team-high 27 disposals for Richmond.
