Perhaps, in these difficult times for many people, either yourself or a family member or friend may be in need of support services.
These could be anything from helping an aged person stay longer in their home, to providing family day care for children, perhaps support services for children struggling in a family environment, or needing help to transition into the lifestyle you are seeking. Or it may be connecting with the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
These are just a few of the community services provided by Intereach in Deniliquin, and they will be among its many operations on which more detail will be available at the Intereach Open Day, this Thursday from 10am to 2pm.
This is a free family day with entertainment, a free barbecue, give-aways, fun for the kids and loads of information about what Intereach does in our community.
Open for inspection will be its Family Centre, which was officially opened six years ago thanks to support from government programs and donations.
This purpose built facility provides a wonderful shared space for children, families and services to meet.
It is often filled with children and family services, Early Intervention services, Out of School Hours care, plus many play groups and support groups.
It also provides a meeting space where allied health childcare workers and child psychologists, counsellors and other professionals can meet with families in a comfortable, aesthetic environment.
With its strong growth over recent decades, Intereach is now a major employer in Deniliquin and its career opportunities will also be featured at the open day.
“We welcome everyone to come along at one of the biggest showcase of Intereach services we have organised,” said CEO Keryn Fox.
“We would be delighted if a large crowd attends so local people can see the services we offer, learn more about how Intereach contributes to our community and be more aware of how we may be able to help you, or a family member, either now or at a future time of need,” she said.
The Intereach Open Day is designed to highlight its many services, provide information on what Intereach offers and also be a fun day for the whole family.
Children will be well catered for with a jumping castle and giant games, as well as the chance to talk to a policeman and inspect a police car. They can also enjoy the free ice-creams, refreshments and Rotary barbecue.
The Intereach Deniliquin office is located at the corner of Napier and Trickett Sts, and entry to the open day will be via the Trickett St carpark.
