The former Deni Rams premiership player underwent surgery yesterday, with a return to the footy field still unknown.
The incident happened early in the third quarter of the round four clash, when Lloyd was looking to collect a Josh Bruce handball off the ground in the forward pocket.
The medium sized forward was pushed off the ball by Sydney’s Aliir Aliir, landing heavily on his shoulder as he tapped the ball back to a teammate.
He immediately left the ground and took no further part in the game.
Lloyd was unable to speak with the Pastoral Times before going to print on Monday.
Despite having only two men on the bench, with key forward Aaron Naughton suffering a game-ending ankle injury in the first quarter, the Bulldogs battled on to win 10.7 (67) to 5.9 (39).
Lloyd was starting to look dangerous before his injury, kicking one goal and having five disposals, three score involvements and two tackles against the Swans.
The win saw the Dogs jump from 16th to 13th on the ladder with a 2-2 win-loss record.
The Bulldogs will be on the hunt for their third win on the trot when they face North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night.
In other AFL action, Todd Marshall and his Port Adelaide teammates continued their perfect start to the season with a 48 point win against West Coast on Saturday afternoon.
The Power were dominant at Metricon Stadium, surging to victory after another strong start to the game, leading by 27 points at half time.
Marshall was again a solid contributor kicking 1.1, collecting eight disposals (seven kicks, one handball), clunking five marks, laying five tackles and having four score involvements.
While the former Deni Rams junior impressed, it was all about his partner in crime in the forward line with Charlie Dixon dominating with 6.2 in front of goal.
The day also saw Port Adelaide onballer Brad Ebert celebrating his 250th AFL match, with the former Eagle also a strong performer against his old club.
The Power sit comfortably on top of the ladder with an unbeaten 4-0 record.
They will face their toughest test of the season when they take on third placed Brisbane at the Gabba on Saturday night.
