A-grade suffered their first loss of the season, going down by five goals in a hard-fought contest.
Despite not having a full-strength line-up available, every player who took the court contributed strongly and competed with great spirit.
While the result didn’t fall our way, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance, and the effort, commitment, and teamwork displayed should leave the team proud as they look ahead to this week’s match.

B-grade: Rovers 55 def Dookie 36
Deni produced a complete four-quarter performance to record a convincing win over Dookie.
The Rovers set the tone early with relentless defensive pressure applied right across the court.
Their intensity and commitment forced turnovers and continually disrupted Dookie's attacking flow, creating valuable opportunities for the Rovers to capitalise.
Players worked tirelessly to create space for one another, providing strong options through the midcourt and allowing the ball to move quickly and efficiently down the court.
Our attacking end, a new look shooting combination displayed excellent movement and timing around the goal circle.
This was partnered with precise feeding, creating scoring opportunities.

C-grade: Rovers 31 def by Dookie 33
This was the challenge the team had been searching for, with both sides fighting hard from the first whistle to the last.
Only a few goals separated the teams throughout the game, making for a great contest right across the court.
Every player contributed and came away with areas to focus on and build over the coming weeks, as the team continues to improve together.

C-reserve: Rovers 21 def by Dookie 31
It was a hard-fought contest from start to finish, and unfortunately, we were unable to step up and get the job done.
Despite facing a strong side, the girls showed incredible determination and resilience.
They were able to make use of excellent channels, creating strong options down the court and working hard to maintain possession.
Every player chased down loose balls, and put in a tremendous effort to contest every play.

Under-17s: Rovers 68 def Dookie 25
Despite a few players battling illness and another week of changes to the line-up, the girls adapted well and settled into the game quickly.
It was great to see them remain composed, trust each other and continue building combinations across the court.
The team worked hard defensively, creating plenty of opportunities through pressure and turnovers, while the attack end capitalised on those chances with consistent scoring.
As the game progressed, the girls continued to build momentum and put together some excellent passages of play.

Under-15s: Rovers 40 def Dookie 21
The under-15s came out firing, producing a blistering start that set the tone for an impressive performance from the opening whistle.
With multiple positional changes made at every break, the girls were challenged to adapt quickly and build new combinations across the court.
While these adjustment periods allowed Dookie to remain competitive, they also provided valuable opportunities for the team to develop versatility, strengthen connections, and showcase their depth.
Jorja Woolston was outstanding through the midcourt, applying relentless pressure and creating multiple turnovers in every quarter.
Nina Glowrey displayed strength at both ends of the court, playing a selfless team role while keeping energy and spirits high.
Georgia Danckert was fierce from start to finish, producing strong drives out of defence and delivering pinpoint passes through the midcourt to keep the ball moving with purpose.

Under-13s: Rovers 27 def Dookie 15
The girls were able to use precise timing and drives to create clean intercept opportunities and turn the ball over.
Defenders Pallas East, Isabella Goodear and Bella Leetham worked tirelessly to put on defensive pressure within the ring.
Midcourters Khoa Unwin, Sophie Bulmer, Peggy O’Donnell and Laila White created smooth transition up the court, with shooters Harper Bulmer, Madison Danckert and Indi Conallin put up goals.

The girls showed great control, determination and teamwork throughout the game.
Evie Hunter’s strong passing down the court was very effective against a tall opposition, and helped move the ball smoothly into attack.
Winnie Horton’s front cuts were a highlight of the game, creating great opportunities for the team.
Mia Fitzmaurice did an amazing job of always being there for her teammates, and providing support wherever she was playing on the court.
Sophia Lehmann’s shooting was consistent and accurate, and her work ethic throughout the game was outstanding.
Lucia Crane and Hadley Poka worked hard to clear space and drive strongly towards the ball, giving their teammates great options.
In defence, Indie Bulmer and Leah White did a fantastic job of rolling their opponents and using their bodies well to contest the ball.
