Finalists will join Edward River Council’s volunteers for a special, invite-only luncheon where their efforts for the community will be celebrated.
“With almost 400 votes coming in, it’s clear that all the nominees’ worthy efforts are highly appreciated by our community,” a council spokesperson said.
“We hope these awards will demonstrate the community’s united support for volunteering and the incredibly important role they play.
“The lunch is an appreciation lunch for our wonderful ERC volunteers, and in addition will be the perfect place and time to announce the winners of our Community Volunteer Awards.
“ERC’s volunteers work across the library and the Peppin Heritage Centre.
“We have approximately 30 volunteers who support us greatly and provide a wonderful, friendly service to our community.”
Nominees in the Community Volunteer Awards were submitted by the community, who were also given the privilege of voting to help determine the winner.
