Mr Farley also joined NSW Member for Murray Darling Helen Dalton yesterday for a joint press conference in Sydney, based on the NSW Government’s Water Management Amendment (Easements for Inundation) Bill 2026.
The press conference was continuing as the Pastoral Times went to print.
His involvement demonstrates why Mrs Dalton expressed faith in Mr Farley’s stance on water policy earlier this week.
“Now the Farrer election is over, and we finally have a water focused federal member, now the real work starts,” she said.
“There is only so much I can do in state parliament, and one of these barriers is holding South Australia accountable for their unnatural, unscientific, and economically destructive fake lakes.
“The results sent a very clear message to the government and the rest of Australia - if you do not appreciate and stand for the people who feed the nation, we don't stand for you.
“Rural Australia is sick of being treated as an afterthought, sick of being lectured from Sydney and Canberra by people who have never set foot on a working farm, sick of policies designed in city offices that destroy regional towns.
“If the major parties keep ignoring the regions, more seats will follow Farrer.
“I know David personally. He is a man of substance who has spent his life in agriculture and rural Australia.
“He understands what it takes to run a farm, raise a family, and build a community. He will work tirelessly for the people of Farrer, and they made the right call.”
In Canberra on Wednesday, Mr Farley introduced himself to the media at a press conference at Parliament House.
He was flanked by other party members, with particular support from leader Pauline Hanson and Barnaby Joyce.
“I was proud to welcome the next member for Farrer David Farley to Parliament House,” Senator Hanson said.
“He will be ‘sworn in’ in the coming months, but we wanted to get his feet under the desk and give him a head-start on how the One Nation Parliament team works.
“David will be ready to hit the ground running on the cost of living, water, health, and growing the food Australia needs.
“Barnaby Joyce and David will make a formidable One Nation team in the House of Representatives. Watch out Liberal and Labor.”
