This time, the funds raised will go directly towards ovarian cancer research.
The shop will host its first fashion parade as part of Frocktober, the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation's major October fundraising campaign.
The free event will be held at the thrift shop on October 14, with arrivals from 5.30pm before the strutting starts at 6pm.
Twelve fabulous models will take to the runway, including dedicated volunteers and some of Shine Bright's valued clients living with a disability.
Volunteer Phillippa Addicott said “we’ve had lots of fun and laughter at the try-on sessions. Everyone is really excited about it.”
Five categories will be featured ― little black dresses, racing wear, summer dresses, formal wear and bridal wear.
Attendees will be welcomed with a complimentary glass of champagne on arrival, along with nibbles and non-alcoholic fruit punch, with raffle and lucky door prizes also up for grabs.
A silent auction will be held for selected dresses, and yes, shoppers will have the chance to browse the shop's racks after the parade.
Throughout October, half the proceeds from every frock or dress sold in-store will go directly to ovarian cancer research — and on the night of the parade, every single dollar raised from sales will be donated.
The shop is known for supporting a range of charities and community causes, with profits returned to community initiatives.
“The community support is absolutely vital. We couldn’t do it without the people who regularly come in and donate all sorts of things,” Phillippa said.
The evening is also a wonderful chance for the community to discover more about Shine Bright and perhaps be inspired to join as a volunteer.
The event is free, with donations and raffle ticket purchases welcomed.
“We want people to come along, have fun, learn a little bit about what Shine Bright does and support ovarian cancer research,” Phillippa said.
