Guests were treated to an afternoon of entertainment, raffles and hospitality, with catering by The Crossing Café and a complimentary drink on arrival setting the tone for the event.
A major highlight of the day was the fashion parade by local store Edith Elsie, which saw a line-up of well-known local models take to the stage.
In a unique and engaging format, models first performed on stage before making their way down the stairs and through the crowd, weaving between tables to give guests a closer look at each outfit.
The parade featured 27 looks, ranging from vintage pieces and designer dresses to bridal gowns, including a striking replica inspired by Guns N’ Roses’ 1992 power ballad November Rain.
The crowd was thoroughly entertained, with music seamlessly stitched together by Pip Whykes enhancing the overall experience.
“It was a huge effort, but highly successful,” Deniliquin Can Assist president Kellie Crossley said of the high tea event.
“And there was a lot of additional joy thanks to the fashion show, thanks to Kate Pitt from Edith Elsie.”
The event proved not only a social highlight, but a significant fundraiser, raising about $28,000 for Can Assist Deniliquin.
On the day, the organisation also shared that it has now provided over $500,000 in support to Deniliquin residents since the branch was established.
This funding has assisted with the costs associated with cancer treatment, including travel, accommodation and everyday living expenses.
