Due to the demand and exciting entertainment program, this year’s event was held in the Deniliquin Town Hall.
Attendance was so strong, there was barely room to move.
A highlight was the fashion parade by local store Edith Elsie, for which store owner Kate Pitt managed to secure a line-up of well known local models.
Deniliquin Can Assist president Kellie Crossley spoke on the importance of the organisation, and of fundraising events like the high tea, and thanked attendees and sponsors for their support.
“Too many people in rural and regional NSW are facing a burden that goes far beyond their diagnosis,” she said.
“The cost and complexity of getting to treatment can be incredibly overwhelming, placing enormous pressure on patients and families at a time when they're already dealing with so much.
“As you know, travel, accommodation, time away from work, groceries, pharmacy bills all add up very quickly.
“For some, they become a barrier to care. Patients are being forced to make heartbreaking decisions about whether they can even afford to attend treatment.
“Can Assist, provides financial support to help patients get to treatment and to get through it.”
