Love of reading, dress up explored at South School

Deniliquin South Public School students transformed into colourful, crazy and fabulous characters on November 15, dressing up as a character from their favourite stories for Book Week.Students and teachers look forward to Book Week each year, with some spending weeks on their costumes in preparation. It gives them the opportunity to not only explore their love of reading, but also their favourite fictional and real life characters for an annual parade.Students could dress to match the Book Week theme of ‘Curious Creatures, Wild Minds’, and many did, or they could be as creative with their costumes as they wanted.South was one of the last of the local schools to host their book parade, with Edward Public School, St Michael’s Primary School and North Public School all sharing their celebrations with the Pastoral Times last month.
