Across Australia, thousands of landcarers are out in paddocks, parks, classrooms, creeks and community spaces doing the work that protects the places and productive landscapes we all rely on.
And now is the time to recognise them for those efforts.
Landcare Australia is calling on communities across the country to nominate local landcarers for the 2026 State and Territory Landcare Awards, with less than one month remaining before nominations close.
From farmers improving soil health and biodiversity to volunteers restoring native vegetation, Traditional Owners caring for Country and young people leading environmental projects, the awards recognise the efforts of those working to protect productive landscapes and natural environments.
Eligible nominees include landcare, coastcare, bushcare and rivercare groups, teachers inspiring students through environmental projects, and First Nations organisations caring for Country.
State and Territory Landcare Award winners progress to the 2027 National Landcare Awards.
Nominations close Friday, July 31, 2026. For more information or to submit a nomination, visit www.landcareaustralia.org.au/awards.
