The Rotary Club of Deniliquin is spearheading a vital community initiative to confront domestic violence, sending a clear, visible message that our town will not condone this behaviour.

Domestic and family violence remains a critical concern across regional Australia.
In response, local Rotarians are rolling out a series of public reminders across town to reinforce a simple but powerful message: “Say No to Domestic Violence”.
Rotarians Angela Parker and Cheryl McMillan have engaged the Deniliquin Men’s Shed to acquire and paint bright purple chairs, which are being placed across Deniliquin.
They serve as a visual reminder - in the recognisable anti-violence purple branding - that the Rotary Club of Deniliquin has a zero tolerance towards any type of domestic violence.
Mrs Parker said the initiative aims to bring the conversation into the open, ensuring that reminders are present in daily life.

“This visible stance is designed to let anyone experiencing violence know that they are not invisible, and that the town stands solidly behind them,” she said.
“Domestic violence affects too many families, and as a community, we must be vocal about where we stand.
“We want these public reminders to serve as both a deterrent to abuse and a beacon of hope for victim-survivors.”
Beyond raising awareness, the campaign highlights the exceptional professional services available right here in the region.
“Noone has to face these challenges alone, and seeking help is a courageous step backed by a supportive community,” Mrs Parker said.
