The call-out is the first stage of a new campaign under the Visit the Murray brand - which incorporates the Edward River and Murray River council regions - and aims to celebrate the traditions that keep people returning to the region year-after-year.
Murray Regional Tourism chief executive officer Cameron Sutton said many families had built lasting connections with Murray communities through annual holidays and shared experiences.
“Many people don’t visit The Murray just once. They return to the same towns, parks, stretches of river and holiday rituals over decades,” Mr Sutton said.
“We want to find the stories behind those traditions, including the everyday moments families still talk about years later.”
The organisation is seeking stories from families who have returned to the same destination over many years, as well as tourism operators who have welcomed multiple generations of visitors.
Examples include annual camping trips, fishing weekends, houseboat holidays, family stays at caravan parks and photographs recreated through the years.
Historic photographs, home videos, postcards, brochures and other tourism memorabilia are also being sought.
Mr Sutton said people did not need to provide a polished story or digitise old material to take part.
Selected stories and material may be featured in campaign content ahead of its launch later this year.
Submissions can be made at visitthemurray.com.au by the close of business this Friday.
