The eight-week promotion begins this Sunday, and rewards customers who support participating local businesses in the lead-up to Christmas.

Pastoral Times general manager Nigel Lutton said the campaign is designed to encourage residents to back local traders while giving shoppers the chance to win.

"This year's giveaway is bigger than ever, with more weekly draws and more chances to win," he said.

Weekly prizes ranging from $100 to $500 will be drawn from November 6 through to December 11, before the $3000 major prize is awarded at the Edward River Council Community Christmas Party on December 18.

Shoppers receive one entry for every $25 spent at participating businesses, up to a maximum of 10 tickets per transaction.

Weekly draws will be held on November 6 ($100), November 13 ($200), November 20 ($300), November 27 ($400), December 4 ($500) and December 11 ($500), before the major draw on December 18.
