Thick black smoke from a fire in Shepparton could be seen in Mooroopna, causing a number of callouts for firefighters.
Shepparton police said a pile of rubber tyres was set on fire at the Driver Education Centre of Australia (DECA) in Wanganui Rd.
Fire Rescue Victoria and CFA firefighters were called to the fire at about 4.15pm.
Police said the fire was being treated as suspicious.
A huge plume of smoke from the fire was visible from a long way away, with firefighters also called to two reports of fire in bushland near the Mooroopna Cemetery and in McFarlane Rd in Mooroopna.
It turned out, however, that all reports were related to the same fire.
According to VicEmergency, six emergency vehicles attended the fire at its height.
