Hosted by Deniliquin Mental Health Awareness Group, walkers are asked to assemble in the park next to the Peppin Heritage Centre at 5pm.
A short walk by the river will be followed by a barbecue dinner.
MHAG member Lourene Liebenberg said the event, sponsored by Transgrid, is free and open to anyone.
“Come together with our community and help us keep the conversation going,” she said.
MHAG is also partnering with Deniliquin Business Chamber to build on its Sticky Topics footpath stickers campaign, to continue to spread the message that “In Deni, we look out for each other”.
“When we were unable to put our mental health stickers directly onto the pavement in the central business district, local businesses reached out and offered another way to show their support for mental health and wellbeing,” Mrs Liebenberg said.
“This year we will be producing stickers that businesses can display in their shop windows or on their doors, showing that they support the wellbeing of our community and the simple but important message.
“Participating businesses will also receive a small pack of mental health information and resources. These can be placed on a noticeboard, kept in a staff tearoom, or simply kept behind the counter in case someone they are speaking with appears to need a little extra support or information about where to turn.”
Mrs Liebenberg said businesses will be contacted by Chamber on how to be involved in the campaign, or you can call Mrs Liebeneberg on 0428 281 060 to register interest and receive resource packs.
Deni MHAG is a local, volunteer-run registered charity. All funded raised by and donated to the group go directly back into supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our local community. You can support the group by going to https://www.justgiving.com/charity/DMHAG.
