Deni settled into the game early, taking a 10-6 lead at the first break through patient ball movement and accurate finishing in the goal circle.
Katamatite responded in the second quarter, but the Rovers continued to control possession and extended their lead at half-time.
The third quarter was the turning point. The defensive pressure lifted, forcing multiple turnovers and limiting Katamatite to just three goals for the quarter.
Strong teamwork through the midcourt created plenty of attacking opportunities as Deni opened up a 32-17 advantage heading into the final break.
To Katamatite’s credit, they continued to fight hard in the last quarter, but the Rovers remained composed.
The shooters converted their opportunities well while the defensive unit continued to apply pressure, ensuring Deni finished with a well-deserved win.

B-grade: Rovers 47 def Katty 40.
While the contest on court was important, the greatest challenge was staying mentally focused and composed throughout the game.
To the girls’ credit, they worked through those moments together, remained resilient and found a way to get the job done.
It was great to see the team continue to support one another, trust the game plan, and respond positively when the game tested them.
Every match provides an opportunity to grow, and this week was another valuable step forward.

It was a warm day, making it the perfect opportunity to trial some different combinations across the court. The girls adapted brilliantly and continued to play with confidence and teamwork.
Taylor Wilkinson was outstanding in the goal circle, fighting hard for every rebound and shooting accurately to keep the scoreboard ticking over.
Montana Muldoon-Leetham had an incredible game at WD, applying relentless pressure and coming away with multiple intercepts that created valuable opportunities for the team.

What a fantastic win! The girls backed each other up consistently across the entire court, showing excellent teamwork and communication.
Their defensive pressure was outstanding, with strong reading of the play allowing them to create plenty of turnovers and limit Katamatite’s scoring opportunities.
The shooting circle was another highlight, with impressive accuracy under the post and strong rebounding efforts giving us multiple second chances.

Under-17s: Rovers 69 def Katty 17.
It was pleasing to see the girls focus on maintaining their intensity, sticking to the game plan and continuing to work on the areas we’ve been developing at training, regardless of the opposition.
The team shared the ball well, applied strong defensive pressure across the court and capitalised on turnovers.
It was another great opportunity to build combinations, back each other in, and keep raising our standards across all four quarters.

Under-15s: Rovers 53 def Katty 14.
The girls were challenged to focus on maintaining intensity and pressure across all four quarters, after some inconsistent performances recently.
They embraced the challenge and their determination was evident in the first few minutes.
An incredible 10 gains in the first quarter gave the team the perfect start and set the tone for the rest of the match.
Zoe Harvey displayed outstanding one-on-one defence and ability to create turnovers with some fantastic intercepts.
Lara Redden and Marlie Mison were also recognised with awards for their excellent efforts.

Under-13s: Rovers 46 def Katty 4.
The under-13s continue to make steady progress in the back-half of their season, securing a convincing victory.
With a focus on new set plays and strong communication across the court, the girls did an exceptional job implementing their training focus into a game context and adapting well to player changes throughout the match.
They kept up intensity, ensuring each centre pass was converted to a goal and worked tirelessly to turn the ball over.

The under-11s worked hard to break through Katamatite's strong defensive pressure down the court.
Evie Hunter and Indie Bulmer's ability to move the ball through all the channels was impressive.
Mia Fitzmaurice and Leah White were outstanding in defence, consistently applying strong pressure against much taller opponents.
Lainey Sampson and Hadley Poka's continual re-offering through the midcourt was highly effective, and helped break down the opposition's defensive structure.
Annie Hurst and Lucia Crane showed an excellent approach against defence, consistently positioning themselves in front and driving strongly forward.
Winnie Horton and Sophia Lehmann attacked the ring exceptionally well and converted opportunities into goals.
