With the home and away season ending last week and teams locked in for final spots, we look to the first two weeks of games in the Picola League’s 2024 finals series.
The first games of the finals' series, the elimination finals, will be hosted by Tungamah tomorrow.
Football and netball teams from positions five through to eight will take to the court and field on Saturday, while the top four sides in each grade have this weekend off.
Another full day of action will be played at Katandra on Sunday, with another four games of football and another seven games of netball to take place.
The second day will follow the same format as the first, seeing the teams sitting in positions eight through to five playing one another.
The draws for both days can be found inside our Picola League Finals feature, inside this edition.
Winners from the first week of finals will advance to the semi-final in two weeks.
After this weekend's play, the focus will quickly turn to the qualifying finals the following week.
Games will take place on Saturday, August 17 in Jerilderie and Sunday, August 18 in Berrigan.
The top four sides in each grade of football and netball will play off for an opportunity to jump straight to a preliminary final.
The losers of those rounds will have a second chance in the semis.
Hosting one of those semi rounds will be the Blighty Football Netball Club, on August 25.
Club vice-president Al Nicholls said the club is excited to play host.
“It's an excellent opportunity to showcase the facilities and the club,” he said.
“And obviously the revenue side of things is going to help.”
