Co-coach Clinton Atkinson kicked two of the Mathoura majors, while Kai Shiels found the other in the bright patches for the visitor.
The result ends another down season for Mathoura, but one that built and improved upon the year before.
Although they finished on the bottom of the ladder, the Timbercutters found their first win since 2024 in round 12 against Katunga and, although, they were still on the end of some big scorelines, the club’s overall effort on both sides of the ball was improved.
Posting a percentage of 9.11 last season, Mathoura grew that to 25.98 this season, conceding fewer points and scoring more over the course of the year.
A new era now approaches for the Timbercutters as the league divides into North West and South East divisions in 2027.
Mathoura will enjoy a slightly easier schedule, with many of the top sides now in the other division, and will hope to build even further on this season over the off-season and into next campaign.
