This is one of two meetings hosted by the local Racing Club each year, with the other being on Caulfield Cup Day in October.
The club is hoping for a pleasant autumn day for the upcoming races, which are expected to encourage a large crowd.
The club is delighted that Deniliquin RSL Club will again be the major sponsor, with the Diggers Cup and four support races on the program.
Club committee members and supporters have been working hard on its improvement program, making facilities safer for participants and more comfortable for patrons.
This includes new PVC railing to improve the safety of horses and jockeys, as well as constant work to ensure the track is in first-class condition.
President Sam Hall said he expects everything to be “in excellent condition” for the Anzac Day meeting, and thanked the club’s many hard-working volunteers for making this happen.
He said the club was also extremely grateful for the support from the RSL Club and other sponsors, as without their financial backing it would not be able to provide quality local racing.
There will be a huge line-up of entertainment and family fun at the meeting, including fashions on the field, live music, bar and refreshments, with TAB facilities plus local and metropolitan bookmakers for the avid punter.
Tickets for the popular Peppercorn marquee are selling fast, and still available on Eventbrite.
For football fans, the big clash between Collingwood and Essendon at the MCG will be live on the big screen.
Anzac Day action will continue after the races, with the traditional game of two-up at the track and continuing later in the evening at the RSL Club.
The Race Club is encouraging everyone to purchase their 2026 memberships. They are currently on sale for $50 which entitles the member to entry on both race days this year, the other being Deniliquin RSL Club Gold Cup day, coinciding with the Caulfield Cup in Melbourne and The Everest in Sydney on Saturday, October 17.
Membership also gives entry into the $500 lucky member’s draw in October. For more details, see the club’s Facebook page.
