The Rhinos host Tocumwal in the A-grade and Nathalia in the B-grade clash from 12.30pm and 1pm respectively.
In A-grade, the side will be looking for their second win from four matches since their season opening win at home against Katamatite.
Since then, the side has had a three wicket loss away against Cobram and a five wicket loss away against Nathalia last week.
In that last match, coach Brad Todd said the first innings batting effort of 131 all out from 34 overs wasn’t enough.
“Our batting once again let us down, the same as it did against Cobram.
“We can’t continue batting first and posting a low score and expect to win games.
“Our bowling was okay, but we still have areas to work on with that as well.”
Tocumwal claimed last season’s wooden spoon, finishing last on the ladder with one win, but are undefeated from their two matches this season following a tie with Katamatite and win against Katunga.
Todd said this week’s clash has become a must win game for the Rhinos, and they won’t take things for granted.
“Even though it is early in the season, if we want to play finals we need to win on Saturday.
“At the start of the year we thought, at worst, we would be two wins and two losses at the bye, but if we go one win and three losses we are chasing our tail for the rest of the season.
“So we need to bat well this week to give us any chance of getting the win/loss to two/two.
“Tocumwal had a win last week against Katunga, so we can’t just expect to rock up and win.”
The side will have a few ins and outs again this week Todd said.
“We had two guys help us out from Echuca South last week, with three guys out of the team, so they will be omissions.
“Rory Bartlett will be a confirmed omission as well.
“We should get Boddie Arthur back, and possibly Anthony Bradley depending how his hamstring recovery is going.
“Ted Wren might be available for his first game of the year.”
The top of the ladder B-grade Rhinos are at home against third placed Nathalia.
The Deni side will be looking to make it four wins in a row, but Nathalia will be a challenge.
They have been strong after finishing on top of the ladder last season, but did lose by seven wickets in a semi final against Barooga.
In junior cricket, the under-15s are away from 8.30am tomorrow against Barooga after their eight wicket loss against Tocumwal in their last match.
In the youngest competitive grade, the under-13s are off to a winning start to their season against Katunga last Friday.
Batting first, the Rhinos made 7/114 from their 20 overs with opener Edward Bliss top scoring with 17 not out.
Other double-digit scorers were Ned Campbell with 13 not out and Willy Eastman with 11 not out.
They then kept Katunga to 3/59 from 20 overs winning by 55 runs.
Rupert Maslen, James Massingham and Willy Eastman all took a wicket each.
They play away against Jerilderie this afternoon from 5pm.
