Deni Rovers defeated Waaia in a strong team performance on Saturday.
The girls got off to a slow start and found themselves trailing by one goal at the first quarter break.
After regrouping and discussing the adjustments needed, the team returned to the court with renewed focus and intensity.
The depth within the side proved invaluable, with positional changes and fresh combinations helping to shift the momentum in Deni Rovers’ favour.
Strong defensive pressure, patient ball movement through the midcourt and accurate shooting allowed the team to steadily build a lead throughout the remaining quarters.
It was a fantastic team effort, with every player contributing to the result.
The girls showed resilience after the slow start and worked hard to secure a well-deserved victory.

B-grade: Deni Rovers 55 def Waaia 36.
The B grade girls produced an impressive well-rounded team performance to secure a strong win over Waaia.
From the start Rovers applied relentless defensive pressure, forcing turnovers and limiting Waaia's opportunities to settle into their attacking structures.
The defensive unit worked cohesively, with excellent communication and determination creating constant pressure on the opposition ball carriers.
The seamless transition from defense to attacking end was a standout feature from the game, moving the ball efficiently and converting defensive gains into scoring opportunities through disciplined teamwork and smart decision-making.
Player positioning across the court was a major strength, with the Rovers consistently creating space and presenting strong options.
Their timing on leads and drives allowed the ball to flow smoothly through the midcourt, while excellent court awareness enabled players to anticipate play and react quickly to changing situations.
The team is really starting to come together as a unit, with combinations continuing to strengthen each week, demonstrating growing confidence and trust in one another.

From attack to defence, every player stepped up and applied pressure when it mattered.
This resulted in turnovers across the court, with nearly every player managing to grab an intercept.
The team trialled different combinations throughout the game, with every player seamlessly slotting into position without affecting the flow of play.

It was a tough contest against Waaia from start to finish, resulting in an unfortunate loss. Despite this, the girls showed plenty of strong movements across the court, working hard to create opportunities and maintain pressure throughout the game.
Everyone, when given direction, adapted and lifted their intensity, showing great determination.

Under-17s: Deni Rovers 72 def Waaia 15.
The girls applied relentless defensive pressure across the entire court, forcing plenty of errors from the opposition and doing a fantastic job of converting those turnovers into scoring opportunities.
Their intensity and teamwork set the tone from the first whistle and continued throughout the game.
There were lots of changes throughout the match, including four under-15s players stepping up and gaining valuable court time.
Despite the different combinations on court, the girls adapted well, worked hard for each other and maintained their structure and composure.

The under-15s delivered a dominant four-quarter performance against Waaia, showcasing the hard work and dedication they put in at training throughout the week.
With a strong focus on court structure, the girls executed their game plan brilliantly from the opening whistle.
Their commitment and effort were rewarded as they controlled the game across all areas of the court.
Issy Didcock and Lilly Boyer combined beautifully in the goal ring, creating space for one another, working tirelessly off the ball and shooting with confidence and accuracy.
Through the midcourt, Marlie Mison, Jorja Woolston, Zoe Harvey and Georgia Danckert were outstanding, using sharp changes of direction, precise passing and intense pressure over the ball to keep Waaia under constant stress.
In defence, Nina Glowrey and Stella McBurnie were a brick wall. Their disciplined footwork, strong body positioning and ability to read the play allowed them to close down space, force errors and pick off countless passes.

Under-13s: Deni Rovers 35 def Waaia 2.
Despite the wet and slippery conditions, the under-13s have continued their winning streak.
A focus on direct and clear passes, even when under fatigue, has seen the girls improve immensely in their performance through to the last quarter.
Shooters Madison Danckert, Indi Conallin and Harper Bulmer continue to have strong flow and connection around the shooting ring, with the support of midcourters Sophie Bulmer and Khoa Unwin feeding in precise and strategic passes.
Circle defenders Pallas East, Bella Leetham and Isabella Goodear continue to dominate, with strong dictation and timing seeing them limit space and intercepting repeatedly.
Midcourt defenders Laila White and Peggy O’Donnell cleanly transition the ball from one end of the court to the other, reading the play and disrupting the opposition.
Although there were some dropped passes and misfeeds throughout the game, there was an emphasis on immediate recovery.

In defence, Leah White worked tirelessly to put pressure on the opposition and create opportunities for her teammates, while Indi Bulmer showed great determination with some important interceptions.
Mia Fitzmaurice defended strongly and stayed focused throughout the game, and Lucia Crane used her positioning well to help stop the opposition’s attack.
Through the midcourt, Evie Hunter had strong drives and worked hard to move the ball down the court, while Sophia Lehmann showed excellent teamwork and made smart decisions with her passing.
Carla Brown was always available for support and kept the ball flowing through the centre third, and Hadley Poka displayed great speed and effort to link defence and attack.
In attack, Lainey Sampson created space well and worked hard to provide strong leads, while Maggie showed great movement and timing to create options for her teammates.
