The Edward Kolety River Community Collective (EKRCC) is helping to bring the multicultural gatherings back to Deniliquin after the interruption of COVID.
The first is this Saturday, November 7 from noon, at the Deniliquin RSL Park.
Bring a plate of food to share and enjoy an afternoon of delicious food, friendship and celebrating the many cultures that make our community special.
Kids are welcome, and the park has plenty of play equipment.
There is only limited seating however, so you may need to bring chair or picnic rug.
It is hoped there is enough interest to host another gathering on December 5, followed by monthly gatherings starting again in February 2027.
The EKRCC is a collective of open-minded community members that discuss, collaborate, advocates for and support actions that improve the lives of Edward-Kolety River region residents.
A key goal of the group is to establish a subcommittee to plan a major annual multicultural celebration for Deniliquin, targeting September or October 2027 for the first event.
If you would like to be involved in planning this event, your ideas and skills will be welcomed. Call Leanne Mulham on 0447 357 437 to express your interest.
If you or your community group wish to be involved in the EKRCC, email your details to southernriverinafoundation@gmail.com.au to be added to the mailing list for agendas and minutes.
