Construction is progressing at a rapid rate as Leitchville’s new fire station takes shape.

Despite delays cused by recent inclement weather, Leitchville Fire Brigade captain Geoff Fry said the construction was about three quarters of the way done.
“It’s very exciting,” Mr Fry said.
“Not just for the fire brigade members, but for the community itself.”
The new station will replace the existing station at 33 King Albert Ave, providing the brigade with a modern, fit-for-purpose base.
While Mr Fry can’t put an exact timeline on the rest of the structure’s construction, with only external walls and the internal fit-out of the station to go, he said it was just a couple of months from completion.
Members of the community, former volunteers and CFA officials will be invited to the opening.
Leitchville Fire Brigade has 26 members and responds to about 45 call-outs a year across Gannawarra Shire.
