The driver of a white Commodore that has allegedly been driven dangerously around Shepparton streets has been arrested.
Shepparton Highway Patrol officers arrested a 20-year-old Ardmona man in the early hours of Sunday morning, August 2, after he was allegedly driving dangerously while being pursued by police on the night of Saturday, August 1.
Police allege the vehicle was involved in erratic driving, failing to stop at red lights and failing to stop on police direction throughout the previous week.
The vehicle was impounded for 30 days, while the driver was issued an immediate licence suspension and charged with dangerous driving while being pursued by police.
Police say they expect to lay further charges, including failing to stop on police direction, reckless conduct endangering life and improper use of a motor vehicle.
The man was bailed to appear at Shepparton Magistrates’ Court later this year.
