General Meeting and Opening Day

A General Meeting is scheduled for September 19 at 9.30am in Ms Birdies Lounge at Club Corowa.
Following the meeting the president/Men's Singles Champion and Anne Summerill Ladies Champion will open the bowls for 2026-27 Season.
Shawn and Scott will cook the BBQ at the completion of Social Bowls.
Ladies lunch and social afternoon
The Match Committee invite all members and friends to an informal lunch at Pickers Cafe in Rutherglen on Thursday, September 3 at 11.30am.

Social Bowls Tuesday, August 25
Conditions were wet but playable, with four members playing rollup then moving into Club Corowa for lunch.
Saturday Open Jackpot Pairs and Triples
The major jackpot was drawn, with a prize pool of $460.
The winners were the Match Committee Pairs team of Jenny Lawrence and Rhonda Clark; congratulations ladies.
A sunny, almost spring-like day was enjoyed by 25 bowlers.
Roger cut the cards and unbelievably card number thirteen was drawn again; that’s six times lucky thirteen.
This coming Saturday is the final Jackpot bowls competition.
Bowls coaching with Chris Cooney
Coaching will commence on Wednesday, September 2, with no coaching on September 9, then continuing each Wednesday afternoon at 4.30pm from September 13 to December 23.
Federation Men's Triples Tournament
The tournament will be held on September 12 and 13; if you wish to play in this two-day tournament, please contact Tournament Director Chris Cooney on 0438534846.
Corowa Civic Bowls Club
The grand final of the Mixed Pairs Consistency took place on Sunday in beautiful weather.
Terry and Michele Shields played Ian Lewis and Eileen Ide in a game of very high standard, leaving spectators in awe.
Eileen played a great game, winning bowls at each end, with she and Ian coming away winners on the day.
At Wednesday Social 21 players took part on a fine sunny day.
Winners were Paul Hickey, Maree Lewis and Alan Jones, with runners-up Guy Rowe and Ann Sadowski.
On Saturday, another beautiful sunny day, 18 players took part in social bowls.
Winners were Lynne Pyke, Peter King and Brian Shipcott, and runners-up were Ian Bilney, Ann Sadowski and Margaret Watson.
The Men’s and Ladies Pairs will take place on Sunday, September 13. Entries close on Sunday, September 6.

Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting was held recently with the following members elected to the board.
President – Shane Rosenow.
Secretary – Michele Shields.
Treasurer – John White.
Board – Ian Bilney, Pam Tobias, Ray Ager, Keith Evans.
Judy Willett, Bruce Corcoran and Caroline Lewis did not stand this year; the club thanks them for all their contributions to Corowa Civic over many years.
Corowa Indoor Carpet Bowls
Sunday’s winners on 5 and 16 (21) on countback were Sylvia Williamson, Betty Clancy, Margaret Watson, and Joe Carnivale.
Runners-up on 17 and 4 (21) were Glenda Willett, Bev Barron, Tony Coppolino, and Merylyn Milthorpe.
Tuesday winners on 16 and 15 (31) were Bev Barron, Merylyn Milthorpe, Jan Webber, and Glenda Willett.
Runners-up on 4 and 17 (21) were Angela Clapton, Margaret Watson, Gloria McCluskey, and Betty Clancy.
Thursday was a win for Gloria McCluskey, Glenda Willett, and Merylyn Milthorpe (why do the rest of us bother) on 16 and 17(33).
Runners-up on 4 and 17 (21) were Peter Manning and Greg Williamson.
