A Grade continued its strong form on Saturday with an impressive 23 goal home court victory.
The girls got off to an exceptional start, racing out to an 8–0 lead and setting the tone for the match.
Maddy Allan was outstanding in goals, while the shooting unit delivered excellent accuracy throughout the game to capitalise on the team's hard work down the court.
The match also provided a valuable opportunity to trial different combinations, and it was fantastic to see Kristy Davis, Grace Stillard and Sienna Clarkson step seamlessly into A Grade competition and make an immediate impact.
A special congratulations to Sienna on making her A Grade debut.
Sienna played a strong and consistent role in WD, working tirelessly through the midcourt and contributing significantly to the team's performance.
Overall, it was a well-rounded team effort and another positive step forward as the group continues to build momentum throughout the season.
B Grade
Yarrawonga 52 def Wangaratta Rovers 34
Yarrawonga B Grade delivered a composed and consistent performance to secure a strong win over Wangaratta Rovers, building momentum as the game progressed and continuing to fine tune combinations across the court.
The opening quarter set the tone for what promised to be a competitive contest, with both sides going goal for goal in a tightly fought start.
Defensive pressure was evident at both ends and neither team was able to break clear, resulting in an even and hard-fought opening term.
It was in the second quarter where Yarrawonga began to assert their dominance.
Lifting their intensity through the midcourt and tightening their defensive structures, the team were able to generate crucial turnovers and convert efficiently.
This shift in momentum saw Yarrawonga extend their lead, setting up a strong foundation heading into the second half.
From there, Yarrawonga maintained control of the game, with disciplined ball movement and consistent execution across all thirds.
The ability to build on their second quarter surge proved decisive, allowing the side to manage the contest and keep the Rovers at arm’s length.
A standout feature of the performance was the team’s cohesion, with every player fulfilling their role and contributing to the overall result.
The continued adjustments to line-ups each week are clearly paying dividends, with combinations beginning to settle while still allowing flexibility and development across the group.
The result reflects not only a strong team performance but also the group’s ongoing progression, as Yarrawonga B Grade continues to build form and confidence as the season unfolds.
C Grade

Yarra C Grade went into Saturday’s clash with Wang Rovers knowing it would be a tough contest and understanding that we would need to bring our very best.
From the first whistle, the intensity was there, with our full-court defensive pressure proving to be a major factor in the result, with Yarra eventually walking away eight-goal winners.
It was a pleasure to watch this group out on court.
The team looked like such a solid unit, with trust, connection and commitment shining through.
The countless hard sessions at training and the dedication to our structures are beginning to show at exactly the right time of the season.
A huge commendation to the girls on the bench who supported relentlessly all game and continued to lift those on court.
This group is a special one, a great unit, and every single person embraces their role each week with grace and selflessness. That’s what makes this team so strong.
Under 17s
Yarrawonga 21 def by Wangaratta Rovers 66
On Saturday morning Yarrawonga took on reining premier’s Wangaratta Rovers.
The young Pigeons were off to a nervous start, and the silky-smooth opposition were able to take the advantage.
Yarra girls settled and applied pressure on the Rovers girls thanks to our defensive end.
The elite Rovers team made very few errors opening a 25-goal lead at half time.
The coaching staff took an opportunity to offer varied positions to some of our players to help further develop some depth in the team.
Sienna and Kendall were stand outs with their defensive pressure which resulted in them both obtaining the team awards this week.
Our coaches were able to draw positives from the game and have some things to focus on at training this week.
Huge shout out to Sienna for making her A Grade debut, so well deserved.
Under 15s
Yarrawonga 42 def Wangaratta Rovers 25
Yarrawonga took on Wangaratta Rovers on the weekend, coming away with a strong victory.
The girls worked hard across the court and played some fantastic team netball.
Best on court honours went to Winnie, who was outstanding in defence, creating plenty of pressure and turnovers.
Rosie also had a terrific game in the shooting circle.
Having only played a handful of O&M games, she continues to grow in confidence and impressed with her accuracy and effort.
Well done to all the girls on a great team performance.
