A-grade suffered a hard-fought loss to Tungamah in a closely contested match.
The scoreboard remained tight throughout the game, with the Rovers matching Tungamah’s intensity across all four quarters.
Heading into the final term, the girls trailed by just three goals and were well within striking distance after an impressive team effort.
Despite the result, the Rovers showed tremendous determination and never gave up, continuing to fight for every ball until the final whistle.
A special mention goes to our junior players, Ruby Cowley and Bae Willis, who played the entire game in the GA and WA positions and demonstrated great composure and maturity against experienced opposition.
In attack, Abbey Wills provided strong leadership and direction, working tirelessly to create opportunities and keep the scoreboard ticking over.
Hazel Glowrey was outstanding through the centre, providing relentless drive and work rate across the court.
Nat Sampson, Gabby Barlow and Pip Metcalfe were also exceptional in their efforts, each contributing to a fiercely contested game through their work rate, pressure and commitment.

B-grade: Rovers 53 def by Tungamah 55.
B-grade suffered their first loss of the season. The girls were slow out of the blocks and found themselves trailing by seven goals at the first break.
However, they responded strongly, working their way back into the game through a fantastic defensive effort right across the court which saw them down by four at half time.
Their ability to consistently back each other up and apply pressure to the opposition helped close the margin throughout the match.
Excellent accuracy in the shooting circle ensured the scoreboard kept ticking over, setting up an exciting finish.
Despite their determined comeback, the girls fell just short, with Tungamah holding on for a narrow two-goal victory.
While the result didn't go their way, the team's resilience, defensive intensity, depth and teamwork were standout features and will hold them in good stead moving forward.

C-grade: Rovers 40 def Tungamah 21.
The girls bounced back in style this week. After last week’s tough loss, the girls responded brilliantly, showing resilience, determination and great teamwork from the first whistle.
Wet and slippery conditions meant the team had to adjust their usual game style and be smart with their ball movement and speed.
The shooters were on fire, converting opportunities with confidence despite the challenging conditions.
Across the court, the pressure was relentless, with everyone working hard to force errors and create numerous turnovers.

C-reserve: Rovers 22 def Tungamah 15.
For the first half of the game, we were going goal-for-goal with Tungamah and fighting for the ball.
But in the second half we were able to find more of our groove, creating fantastic passage of plays with accurate passing, great movement through the channels, and excellent communication and back up across the court.
The girls chased every loose ball, applied strong defensive pressure and never gave up on a contest.

Under-17s: Rovers 50 def Tungamah 30.
The under-17s were excited to take on Tungamah in a top-of-the-table clash.
The girls came away with a strong win, but the scoreline doesn’t tell the full story.
It was a hard-fought game early, with only three goals separating the teams at quarter time.
The margin gradually grew throughout the game, before the girls put together an outstanding last quarter to finish with a 20-goal victory.

Under-15s: Rovers 30 def by Tungamah 33.
The under-15s girls fought hard in a tightly contested match, but unfortunately fell just short at the final whistle.
The team gave their best effort across the court, showing determination, teamwork and resilience throughout the game.
Every player contributed positively and continued to compete strongly until the end.

Under-13s: Rovers 22 def by Tungamah 32.
Starting with high intensity, the girls established a 10-3 lead in the first quarter, using defensive pressure, clear drives into the front position and connection across the court to turn over the transition the ball.
Defenders Isabella Goodear, Pallas East and Bella Leetham consistently put strong pressure on their opponents, cleanly intercepting and limiting space.
Midcourters Laila White, Khoa Unwin, Peggy O’Donnell and Sophie Bulmer had great connection throughout the midcourt to dictate the play with quick turnover.
Shooters Madison Danckert, Indi Conallin and Harper Bulmer freely flowed throughout the ring to put up goal after goal.
In what was a tough final quarter, the girls continued to show determination and team spirit until the final whistle.

Under-11: Not scored.
The under-11s worked extremely hard to adapt to Tungamah’s strong defensive pressure and shooting ability.
Mia Fitzmaurice’s ability to read the play had a significant impact on the opposition’s attacking end.
Winnie Horton and Sophia Lehmann’s determination to ensure the ball was delivered safely and accurately to their teammates was incredible to watch.
Hadley Poka and Lainey Sampson’s ability to play any position on the court makes them a pleasure to coach.
Indie Bulmer and Lucia Crane worked well together in the attacking end, setting up plays and making strong drives into the pocket to create quality passing opportunities into the goal ring.
Leah White is a pocket rocket, and wherever she is placed on the court, she gives 110 per cent. She secured numerous turnovers that were converted into goals.
Carla Brown was outstanding in defence, making multiple intercepts before helping transition the ball into our attacking end.
Morgan Sampson showed significant improvement in today’s game, demonstrating many of the skills we have been focusing on at training.
