Part of the broader Victoria Park Master Plan, the upgrade supports a wide range of river users, including anglers, campers, water skiers, house‑boaters, canoeists, jet skiers, powerboat enthusiasts and nature lovers.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Daniel Mackrell said the project delivered extensive improvements across the precinct, enhancing safety, accessibility and overall visitor experience.
“The completed upgrades have provided facilities that meet modern standards and support a growing range of recreational activities,” he said.
“We know that locals and visitors alike love spending time on and in our wonderful Murray River in a variety of ways, and this project ensures that everyone can have access to those experiences.”

Key project works included upgrading the boat ramp and infrastructure, the installation of an all‑abilities walkway and floating dock with a crane to support all‑ability access and construction of new retaining walls.
New electric barbecue and wheelchair‑accessible picnic tables were added, as were bike maintenance facilities and an e-bike charging station, while dedicated bike racks and landscaping upgrades between the river and car park made the area a place for all to enjoy.
Traffic improvements to enhance vehicle movement and ease congestion were also completed.
Funding totalling $2 million for stages one to four of the five-stage project was provided by council in conjunction with external funding partners including Better Boating Victoria and the Universal Design Funding Round 2022, while stage five was fully funded by council at a cost of $651,000.
