Croquet afternoons prove popular

Winter afternoon play is proving popular for members of the Deni Croquet Club, with sixteen players participating on Sunday.

Mary James and Alan Higgins were the three game winners, with Mary beating Alan on a hoop countback.

The two game achievers were Marg Telford, Allan Tonta, Rex Kernich, Brad Fawns, and Andy Davis. Mary James was the lone jump shot scorer.

Eighteen members played on Wednesday.

Mary James came to the fore again, winning the three-game contest in a tie with Andy Davis.

The two game achievers were Rex Kernich, new player Bronwyn Chappell, Alan Higgins, Brian Dudley, Terry Murphy, Brad Fawns and Leo Barry.

Andy Davis scored four jump shots and Brain Dudley, Gary Brose and Leo Barry each scored a single shot.

Afternoon times continue, with play on both Sundays and Wednesday from 1pm. Arrive by 12.30pm.
