Team 1’s finishing in front of goal proved the difference as they capitalised on their chances to secure the win.
In another thrilling contest, A2 edged out A4 5-4 in one of the games of the day.
Spectators were treated to some sensational goals from Elliot Loughridge and Chase Hewat, while the backbone of the victory came through outstanding defensive work from Jackson Moroney and Abby Hornung, whose efforts continually shut down attacking opportunities.
B-grade
One of the standout stories of the morning belonged to the B1 All Girls Team, who celebrated a fantastic victory over B3.
Team spirit was at an all-time high as the girls combined beautifully across the field, with a superb one-touch finish from Amelia Thompson proving one of the highlights of the day.
B3 were full of praise for their opponents after a very competitive and enjoyable match.
Another crowd-pleaser saw B4 fight back from 2-1 down to snatch a dramatic 3-2 victory over B2.

Both teams displayed excellent sportsmanship and some impressive soccer skills throughout.
Meanwhile, B2 continue to improve each week, with coaches noting the boys are really starting to come together as a team.
C-grade
The clash between C1 and C3 finished in an entertaining 3-3 draw, with both teams applying relentless pressure from start to finish.
For C3, Raimy Henderson communicated brilliantly from goals while making several crucial saves.
Theo Beale demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship by volunteering to play for the opposition to even up numbers and still managed to score two goals, while Maxi Robson added another excellent finish.
C1’s improvement was impossible to ignore this week.
Better passing, stronger communication and growing confidence across the field resulted in a deserved draw.
Congratulations to goalscorers Jennifer Loughridge and Campbell Shields, while Hazel Sutton earned sportsperson of the match after her strongest performance yet.
Another well-deserved mention goes to Theo Beale for willingly helping the opposition, perfectly demonstrating the values the club is built upon.
In the other fixture, C4 recorded a strong 7-2 win over C2, with another fantastic example of club spirit shown by Wes Du Toit, who happily swapped teams to balance player numbers and ensure everyone enjoyed a competitive game.
D-grade
D3 continued their impressive form with a 5-0 victory over D1.
The team welcomed Liam Cartwright, who produced his best performance yet, while strong contributions came from Eddie and Monte Chartres, Gus Donaldson, George Fellows, Bridie and Pip Hooke whose defensive efforts kept a clean sheet.
Lucy Milliken capped off the morning with a beautifully taken second-half penalty.
Add in some half-time oranges, and it was another memorable day for the yellow team.
In the second D-grade fixture, D2 defeated D4 4-2 after overcoming a slow start.
Once they settled into the game, the purple team began linking passes beautifully.
Gabrielle Olabampe stole the show with a brilliant hat-trick, while Frankie Murphy stood tall in goals during the second half to deny several attacking chances and help secure the victory.
Kangas and Joeys
Another great week for the Kangas and Joeys after a week off.
They played some old favourite drills with lots of smiles.
The Kangas and Joeys have also started learning about attacking and defending with a game of pirates and sailors.
It can be tricky when someone ‘steals’ the ball off you, but a very important skill to practice and understand from a young age.
Come along to Rotary Park this Saturday to cheer on the players and enjoy another fantastic morning of community soccer this week.
New faces are always welcome, and there’s no better place to spend your Saturday morning!
