However, Rumbalara lifted their intensity in the second term and created a gap that proved difficult to reel in, despite our strong response in the second half.
With some omissions across the A and B squads, a number of players were asked to push through fatigue, which led to a few lapses in concentration that Rumbalara were quick to capitalise on.
There were still plenty of positives to take away.
It was great to see Chloe Way and Emma Parks given an opportunity in defence, where they showed promising signs as a combination moving forward.
Makayla Finn once again imposed herself across the attacking zone with her trademark dominance, while Dakota Mitsch was consistent throughout, battling hard from start to finish.
Awards: Makayla Finn, Emma Parks, Dakota Mitsch.
B-grade: Deni Rams 28 def by Rumbalara 51
It was a tough outing for the team this week, with Rumbalara proving just too strong across the court.
We went into the round a little under manned across all our season grades, but that challenge also opened the door for some valuable opportunities.
A real positive was the chance to give our junior players some senior exposure, and they certainly made the most of it.
Zoe Circuitt stepped up and impacted the game nicely, showing great composure, while Brydey Maher impressed in her first senior appearance for the club.
Congratulations to both young players on their efforts.
Molly Bradley continues to adapt well to the demands of senior netball, providing a consistent presence in attack, while our reliable captain once again led with steadiness and determination throughout the match.
Despite the result, there were plenty of encouraging signs as we continue to build depth and experience across the squad.
Awards: Molly Bradley, Zoe Circuitt, Katie Arandt.

The Rams found their footing in the second and started to play more of their conventional style of netball.
With Rumba holding a nine goal lead at half time, numerous positional changes were made which proved to be effective in the second half.
Arabella Bliss and Hannah McBurnie played an aerial game in defence which troubled the Rumba goalers.

Under-11s: Not scored.
Great team effort from our under-11s this week.
We’ve been working hard on channels, spacing, and timing our leads at training, and it really came together in today’s game.
The girls showed much better flow down the court, using space well and presenting at the right time, which created strong attacking opportunities.
Best on court today were Inkie Leech, Maxi Robson (a fantastic first game—settled straight in and made an impact), and Kobee Williams, who was playing an outstanding game before unfortunately breaking her arm in the final quarter.
The team showed great care and support for Kobee, which was lovely to see.
Across all positions, every player continues to improve each week.
Their confidence is growing, and they are starting to connect really well as a team.
