Tribunal news | Clifton set for stint on sidelines

Clifton was reported for charging Shepparton playing coach Ted Lindon in his side’s win over the Bears at Kings Park on June 4.

Clifton was reported by three umpires following the incident.

The former Seymour co-coach was offered a set penalty of two weeks, which was declined.

The matter was heard at the tribunal last week. Clifton was found guilty and suspended for three matches.

He was unavailable for selection in his side’s win over Rochester and will miss this weekend’s clash against Tatura and round 11 against Mansfield.

In other round eight penalties, Tatura defender Curtis Ryan was reported for carelessly striking another player in his side’s loss to Shepparton Swans on June 5.

Ryan accepted a set penalty of one match and will be free to play in round 10.

Shepparton United’s Charlie Di Stefano was reported in the round eight loss to Kyabram.

Di Stefano was reported for intentionally striking another player and accepted a two-match set penalty.
