Coming into the round 11 at Princess Park off the back of a sobering 74-point loss against Echuca last time out, they issued an instant response to secure a valuable 9.10 (64) to 7.7 (49) victory.
The Swans set the tone from the outset, kicking the opening two goals through James Auld and Harper Simpson before taking an eight-point lead into quarter-time.
The visitors responded strongly in the second term, with captain Jett Trotter leading from the front and goals to Max Gleeson and Andrew Bell helping the Magpies briefly threaten.
However, the Swans continually found answers, maintaining a narrow three-point advantage at the main break.
The decisive period came after half-time, with both sides struggling to generate scoreboard pressure, as the hosts tightened their grip on the contest, restricting Euroa to four points in the third quarter while adding 3.2 themselves.
The defensive effort proved pivotal, turning a slender lead into a commanding 19-point buffer at the final change.
Euroa mounted one last challenge in the final quarter through Trotter and Zac Gleeson, but the Swans remained composed as goals to Christian Georgiou and Auld ensured the home side kept the Magpies at arm's length before running out comfortable winners.
Harper Simpson was the standout forward on the day, booting four goals for the Swans, while Auld added two and Kade Alper, Liam Rachele and Christian Georgiou also hit the scoreboard.
For Euroa, Trotter battled hard with three goals and Zac Gleeson chipped in with two.
Reflecting on the victory, Swans coach Linc Sullivan was pleased with the application of his troops en route to claiming the spoils.
“We needed to rebound after Echuca the week before, they really stifled our game and we didn’t put the best version of ourselves out there against them,” he said.
“We were really across that this week in training and really wanted to make amends and make sure we had the best version of every individual and our roles against Euroa.”
Sullivan also singled out free-scoring Simpson for praise after his four-goal exploits.
“He’s a dynamic and electric forward and one that can really turn a game on its head quickly – he certainly did that a few times against Euroa,” he said.
“He’s got explosive speed and wit around goals, so he’s quite canny. I was really pleased for Harper and he’s starting to put a really good season together.
“He’s only a young fella, finding his way in football, but he had a really good game there.”
In addition, he expressed his delight at the hard work of his supporting cast, in particular the contributions of Ty Sutherland.
“I thought Ty Sutherland in the ruck was enormous and pretty much has been a star contributor for us in that regard this year.
“He goes under the radar a bit, as a lot of rucks do, but I thought his game was outstanding – he contested footy, rucked probably 85 per cent of the game, so I was really pleased for him.”
Next up, the Swans will take on Kyabram away at Kyabram Recreation Reserve in round 12.
